I made this to keep my iPhone from sitting on the floor or dangling from the cord. It fits nicely around the charging dongle.

I started with a fairly solid prototype, but needed to make some changes:
- Made the wall charger opening bigger.
- Added lots of holes to reduce plastic usage / print time.
- Shrunk the thickness of the platform to 2mm from 4mm.
- Added a fillet to the bottom for better stability.
The next revision should be a hexagonal plate so there’s no need for infill around the holes. That would really make things more efficient.
I built this in OpenSCAD. Prototype 2 took 1.5hrs to print on a MakerBot Replicator 2 with a 5% infill and 0.30mm layer height.
- First prototype
- Refined 3D model for second prototype
- Second prototype printed
- Second prototype printed
- Second prototype in use
